me. inc.
Since coming back to CA from Seattle I’ve been paying the bills with money made from tutoring.
I love to teach, and to learn. I love working with kids and young adults. I’m creative and organized and really actually very good at tutoring.
I’ve also been bashing my head against the “find a real job” wall, as well as the “get absurdly educated” wall.
In the last week or so, however I have received enough requests from parents to work with their children that I could make a living.
I could make a living doing something I like and am good at. Something I think is important.
I’m still planning to get absurdly educated. But in the meantime, I’m walking my ass over to the Campbell City Hall and getting a Business License. The sole proprietorship style. No longer will I be an unemployed college grad working under the table. I will have started my own business.
Take THAT economy!
EDIT: This also means I get to buy things like tanks of gas and organic chemistry textbooks and not pay taxes on them because they are for work. Also classes I want to take on education, ESL certification… pretty much anything. WIN!
